Playing around with new flavors and sourdough discards
I recently felt like adding more color and flavor to my bakings...and because of that decided to get the Pitaya natural fruit powder from @koyahlife https://www.koyah.organic/ which I am so happy about, as it is sooo good!
I remember my mother adding color to food when growing up to make it more appealing, and making us all eat... but this natural food colors are amazing! plus not only they provide color but flavor and nutrition!
1) 1 cup of sourdough discards
2) 1/3 cup of spelt flour
3) 1 egg
4) 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
5) 1/4 cup of milk of choice
6) 2 servings of Pitaya Powder from Koyah (it has a serving scoop inside)
Whisk all together, and over a heated and greased pan start making the pancakes!
As toppings I added: Clementines which I dipped in the Pitaya Powder and also added some Almond Butter from Trader Joes, of course added some Maple Syrup too!
